THANK YOU FOR THE LIGHT
"And God said, 'let there be light' and there was light. God saw that the light was good and separated the light from the darkness."
(Genesis 1: 3-4)
Father God, thank you for sending light into my darkness
Jesus said: 'I am the light of the world and whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life.'
(John 8: 12)
Son of God, thank you for being the light in my darkness
Jesus said: 'You are the light of the world. Do not hide it, but let your light shine before all people that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.'
(Matthew 5: 14-16)
Spirit of God, thank you for filling me with light for the darkness
So may I arise from the darkness and let the light shine from within me for the glory of the Lord is shining all around me.
(from Isaiah 60:1)
MAY HEAVEN COME
May we find the place on earth where Your will is being done
May we find the place on earth where different cultures live as one
May we find the place on earth where love has found a home
May we find the place on earth where no-one is on their own
May we find the place on earth where peace is gently grown
May we find this place on earth where everyone finds their worth
When we find that place on earth we will know heaven has come to earth!
LIVE EVERY DAY AS IF....
Let every day be a Christmas;
may each day be like Easter;
let Christ be born in hearts today
to sow the seeds of love which fall and die
then grow again to bear the everlasting fruit....
WE DIE TO MULTIPLY
A grain of wheat must fall and die
before it can begin to grow and multiply
A rose will die yet grow to flower again
while autumn leaves will fall but come again!
As water bug becomes a dragonfly
and caterpillar changes to butterfly
so the old will die and the new will fly
with wings of beauty into the sky
Rejoice in the beauty!
Celebrate the mystery!
This is God's creation:
Through death's dark valley to the joy of resurrection!
As Christ died and rose to live again
So our life will end and begin again
And when we die, as new we fly
with wings of beauty into the sky
Or like the flowers and autumn leaves
we'll live again without pain or tears...
Rejoice in the beauty!
Celebrate the mystery!
The miracle of transformation
Making us a new creation!
